Ahoy!
Kauai was truly an epic port. We were very fortunate to spend the long weekend here - we had excellent turnout for public ship tours and everyone aboard seemed to have a fantastic time exploring this beautiful island. Our visit took place over Memorial Day Weekend, and we started the day off with a moment of silence at formation to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
In the past 20 years we have visited Oahu and Maui many times, so it has been nice to branch out and visit other islands in recent history (the Big Island in 2023 and now Kauai in 2025). Cadets were able to get off and make their way around the island - many spent their days off at various beaches, parks, restaurants and bars. Popular activities were swimming, scuba diving, snorkeling, hiking, tubing, and even cliff diving. Every inch of Kauai was scenic and we all made the most of our time here.
We were greeted in port by President Dumont and Cal Poly President Jeff Armstrong.

The more adventurous folks did a bit of climbing and cliff diving.
Until next time, Kauai. Mahalo for your kindness and hospitality. We will surely be back to visit you again in the future!
